Installation of Kikbax JK/JKU

• Step 1:  Take off your doors!
• Step 2:  Guide Kikbax into the top door hinge.  Once the top hinge is in, Kikbax should line up with the bottom hinge.  The same way you would line up the hinges of a door.
• Step 3  Swing Kikbax towards the door jamb until they meet the door strap hook.
• Step 4:  Lift Kikbax up and over the door strap hook.  
• Step 5: Push down on Kikbax foot peg, locking Kikbax firmly in place behind the door strap hook.

At this point your Kikbax should be flush with the door hinges and locked in place. Kick back and relax!

Installation of Kikax JKU Rear Pegs

• Step 1: Unplug the rear door wiring harness, detach the door straps and remove the rear doors.
• Step 2: Remove the plastic door jamb liner. (If yours still has it, they tend to get lost)
• Step 3: Place the C-shaped Kikbax fitting into the door jamb, where the door strap goes through
• Step 4: Slide the Kikbax frame up, just into the plastic molding.
• Step 5: At this time swing the Kikbax hinges towards your Jeeps hinges.
• Step 6: When they line up slide the Kikbax frame down into the hinges and locked into place.
• Step 7: At this point your KikWayBax should be locked and ready to Kikbax and relax!

Installation of Kikbax TJ/LJ

• Step 1:  Take off your doors!
• Step 2:  Make sure door strap hook is in the upright position, (factory position) and not bent towards the door jamb. Some adjustments to the door strap hook may be required.  There are two solutions if the hook is in fact bent:  Buy a new door strap hook, or the Jeeper Method:  Use the circular side of a wrench to bend the door strap hook back into the original upright position.
• Step 3:  Guide Kikbax into the top door hinge.  Once the top hinge is in, Kikbax should line up with the bottom hinge.  The same way you would line up the hinges of a door.
• Step 4:  Now swing Kikbax in toward the door jamb, making sure Kikbax align with the dome light button.  Lifting them slightly, slide Kikbax up and over the door strap hook then push them down safely around the door strap hook.

At this point your Kikbax should be flush with the door hinges and locked in place. Kick back and relax!

Installation of Kikbax YJ (1987-1995)

• Step 1:  Take off your doors!
• Step 2:  Prepare your door strap hook.  Make sure the door strap hook is in the upright position, (factory position) and not bent towards the door jamb. Some adjustments to the door strap hook may be required.  There are two solutions if the hook is in fact bent:  Buy a new door strap hook, or the Jeeper Method:  Use the circular side of a 1/2” wrench to bend the door strap hook back into the original upright position. 
• Step 3:  Position Kikbax YJ over the two door hinges and the door strap hook. 
• Step 4:  As you guide the top hinge in, the bottom hinge and door strap hook should line up as well. 

Step 5:  Once both hinges and door strap hook are lined up, push Kikbax YJ down to lock into the hinges and door strap hook.
